iOS 9 App Transport Security

With the upcoming introduction of iOS 9, Apple will be urging application developers towards greater security. This is a program called App Transport Security (ATS), and, along with the iOS 9 security standards, it is documented in more detail in this Apple technote.

Demand partners that are not prepared for secure ad serving on iOS 9 will lose the opportunity to see and bid on iOS 9 app inventory, as adoption of iOS grows the potential for lost opportunities will be a large percentage of in-app inventory. Rubicon Project is working with all partners to ensure that they are certified for https impressions. This includes validating that partners are compliant with Apple’s ATS requirements.

OpenRTB: Expansion of support for Multiple Ad Sizes

A common monetization strategy for sellers involves the ability to dynamically resize a single ad spot on a page so that they can offer buyers a range of formats to meet their campaign requirements. Historically, being able to auction a single ad spot as a multi-size opportunity was difficult and introduced friction in pricing effectiveness, participation, and costly infrastructure impact for all parties.

Recognizing this problem, we have developed a special solution to this issue: OpenRTB Multiple Ad Size Support. With this new implementation, DSPs will be given the ability for better price distinction in optimization and will have a cleaner view into opportunity size for reporting and analytics.

To fully illustrate the exciting and new opportunity that MAS support brings to our partners, we have created this data sheet that will help you better understand the problem as well as our solution, the various use case examples, and the direct customer impact to our DSP partners.
